@masseffectgayliens has been an absolute STAR and has been sort of hot-seating my shep, which has been an amazing opportunity for me to develop my headcanons about her and her fam! so this is her as a kiddo with her parents, phillip (engineer and secondary shuttle pilot) and hannah (at that point, gunnery chief), shortly before her father was killed shuttling civilians to safety from a settlement under attack by mercenaries. spending her formative years toddling around after him in engineering are actually what inspire her to choose her specification when she enlists. 

idk wtf this style is meant to be but I like how the hands came out sooo…??

of course this is different for everyone, but I chose the destroy ending and my shep gets to live for sure because..

Question for all my smart mass effect friends! How canon is it that the Ryders ever met Shep and the crew? I love thinking that they knew Shep and looked up to them, but what is the trUTH DO WE KNOW??
Also point me in the direction of any cute “Ryder meeting Shepard” fanfics ☺️

Since Shep was an N7 and Alex was an N7, I would assume they would at least *know of* Shep. I mean, if nothing else, I can almost guarantee that they knew Garrus, since he was C-Sec before getting involved with Shepard. Just imagine Garrus showing up at the Ryder house with both pre/early teen Ryders in tow, and Alex is all “gdi not again.” That’s personally one of my favorite headcanons about the first Mass Effect crew knowing the Ryders.

Well I think Allec Ryder was N7 way before Shep, but as I heard Allec knew Castis Vakarian (Garrus’s dad) very well.
Actually when Andromeda came out I was just starting with ME trilogy, but I always thought what Ryder twins might have had run ins with Shep. Like they came to visit Allec (he was a marine before becoming a pathfinder aren’t he? Someone fill me on this) like they got lost in the base and accidently asked young 18 year old soldier to show them the way without knowing he/she one day will become Commander Shepard.

Alec was indeed prior/active military. Anderson being one the first but Alec was already well into his life and military career before joining. Ryders could very easily bump into Shepard even before Shep was “famous”. N7 is military and selectively small, would be like family. And since Ellen worked on L2s for N7…

My HC kiddo Sara gave kiddo Scott a haircut that went bad, they had to shave his head. An unknown Shep gave Scott a compliment though when he was with Ellen one day as she stopped by the “office” to check on something after leaving the barber.

Just whatever. Could be whatever. It’s a small Citadel really when it comes to humans.
