Long story short, Fallout: Test Market is a hypothetical spinoff set in the ruins of Tulsa, Oklahoma, where the pre-war government experimented with a society engineered around the jingoism, commercialism and anti-communism of the 1980s instead of the jingoism, commercialism and anti-communism of the 1950s.

Hours turned to days as she travelled, making camp in the handful of shelters she could find. And, inside a ruined Red Rocket, the rumours proved entirely true. 

The unfamiliar suit carried a menacing aura – and a history she had yet to learn of. The station had protected it over the past years, and it was obvious that at one point, the armour had been diligently maintained. With a fresh fusion core, it was functional once again.
