D’angelo stayed with the Abernathy’s for the night. It was by luck that they had an extra bed, no doubt the deceased daughter’s. Fatigue ate at him, but he couldn’t sleep. It’s been a while since D’angelo felt internal turmoil like this, the survivalist in him said that what he did was certainly not worth the risk he went through and that he should have demanded more, but the outstanding citizen he used to be said that what he did was right and he should continue to help. Sleep didn’t come easy, but he got it in the end.
