Mild nsfw below cut. Full nsfw on dark page.  @helloaschefire having a rough time this week with work being work and Tumblr being, well Tumblr. So I thought I would cheer her up with my OC: Duncan before heading off to set up the tree for the fam.

Little Headcanon:

  • Likes bitter coffee. The stronger and darker, the better. Zero sugar or cream. Tea will work in a pinch.
  • Scorpio
  • Keeps holotape journals (hands off Ash!)
  • Always builds near water for personal reasons. Is avid swimmer.
  • Favors Plasma or Gauss Weapons. Will tinker with specs and always try and improve on them.
  • Vegetarian but will eat what he must to survive. Meat in the commonwealth disgusts him and he doesn’t trust it. He knows he can’t avoid things cooked in meat broths and would not be an asshole and turn down what good people bring him. He does supplement with protein. 
  • Prone to unintentionally giving people the silent treatment, even when not angry with them. He just doesn’t realize he’s doing it.
  • Much to Ashoken’s dismay, he refuses to answer some questions wanting her to come up with her own answers so she won’t think he’s influencing her choices. He knows this is getting thin with her.
  • Watched Curie carry on a full 1 sided conversation with Echo while hiding a smile behind a book.
  • ALWAYS has a book or magazine with him.

I love hearing another’s POV without the actual story mode being reread at the time. Sometimes the other characters in stories, even though not the main focus, have thoughts their own thoughts that are hidden, and may need explanations or do explain attitude or behaviors later. Sometimes it’s just nice to get in their head a little. They are mostly done 1st Person

I didn’t hide the fact I was up well before the others. I wanted my coffee. Why even bother. Curie was asleep, Ashoken was… not. I knew better.  I gave her the couch, the only couch we had and told her to make herself at home. Good luck with that. I know she listened to every creak of the safe house. It was the first night here. I had hoped the sounds of the lapping waters under and around the docks would put her at some kind of ease. It was one of the reasons I picked this place.

She’d showed up right on time at the church, no surprise there. I could set a clock by her. Unfortunately was surprised me was the memory block released earlier than expected. She was supposed to wait but recognized me? The look of fear on her face caused my heart to stop. I thought I was over being undone by the simplest expressions from her. It would have been both our undoing had I not gotten her out of there. I’d be dead on the spot, and her I still have to protect her.

It’s only been a few days, and I know she suspects something. I just can’t tell her the whole truth yet. Even though this would be the perfect moment, I’d rather watch as she’s pretending to wake from her sleep. Pretend all is normal and brush the sleep from the same eyes that stare daggers into my soul.

“You have Bedhead.” Duncan set the coffee cup down with force before turning back to the bedroom, leaving Ash the rest of the house.
