Bliss

The day Shaun was born was the happiest day of my life. My baby boy, so perfect and tiny. There’s an immidiate impulse to protect him from the world. And it’s stronger than anything I’ve ever felt. Stronger than self-preservation, stronger than the love I have for Nate. It’s complete, ultimate devotion.

And now, a year later, it is just as strong. Shaun is growing everyday, Nate is home, discharged from the Army. Our home is filled with laughter love and light.
I made a Halloween Costume for Shaun. I can’t wait to see him in it, take him trick-or-treating for the first time.
This is what bliss feels like. I know it.
