@charomiami , the awesome, tagged me. She also took this screenshot of Ashoken. I did the edits. Ashoken is not spooked by spooky spooks, but she might spook others. 🙂 I don’t usually tag folks, but if you haven’t already and you want to, come play along. 🙂

How does Ashoken fight? Does she have a signature weapon?

helloaschefire:

@hoodieofthewaste asks and I answer! Thank you for the great question!

Ashoken prefers the gauss rifle and energy weapons in general. She was impressed with how well put together the crank laser rifles the Minutemen favor, but finds them too cumbersome to use consistently. She is familiar and adept with many weapons systems, but her Institute assignments were mostly for covert assassinations and general ghost ops. In close combat, she prefers to use a sword of some sort. She keeps handy a machete and Shem Drowne’s sword. She rarely needs a blade as her opponents are usually melted piles of red and blue slag, or Echo chew toys before they close with her and Duncan. In reserve, she has hidden 10mm pistols and usually carries a shotgun on her back in case of main weapon malfunction. In a nutshell, she sneaks, shoots and loots.

Give me the rundown on your son, Duncan. Who is he?

Short story? Duncan is the youngest son of Shaun in our AU.

From a very early age he rebelled against the path his father has set for him and became a huge thorn in his side. he didn’t want the responsibility or the role, he just wanted the attention he needed from his father. His mother had “died” before he was 5.

He doesn’t remember much about her so don’t ask him.  Anyways, his rebellious nature continued no matter how hard he tried to obey and comply with what was expected of him until he simply didn’t know anything but fighting with Father and The board and started “Running Away”. Father’s only option to try and reign him in and keep him safe was to assign a personal bodyguard and babysitter under the guise of an assistant.

A plan that backfired and became the final catalyst in him becoming the “Man on the inside” for many of the factions fighting the Institute and wishing its downfall.

Now he deeply dedicated to seeing Ashoken, once his jailer, possible executioner and now lover, free to live her own life and never again an instrument of the twisted ideas of the Old Institute.

What would you say was an important event that helped form Ashoken’s personality after her escape?

@hoodieofthewaste , you mentioned that you wondered about how Ashoken handled Dima and Arcadia. The events at Far Harbor were very important to Ashoken’s personal development. The idea that there was a safe place for synths outside the Institute’s influence was one that intrigued Ashoken. Duncan worried it was a trap or a trick, and Ashoken agreed that it could. But as they made their way through the events, they found no trick. Only Dima’s and the Children of Atom’s hubris. Thus Ashoken, as she often does, become nemesis. The instrument of their downfall.

Remember, Ashoken prizes honesty above almost everything else. Dima was never honest. Even the synths using Arcadia as a refuge feel there is something wrong there. Something they can’t identify. I think Dima felt it too and sent Ashoken on that path. It ended with Ashoken convincing Dima to fess up to what he’d done. He died on the pier. I found it sad that everyone left his body there. I had this great screenshot of Ashoken kneeling in mourning next to his body. Sadly, my computer refuses to read the USB drive it lives on now. She and Duncan buried his body and left Arcadia alone. For now. There are plans…

As for the Children of Atom. She never even gave them a chance to speak. There would be no way of getting her and Duncan to drink their swill.

Duncan belongs to the lovely @charomiami , my partner in crime and alternate Fallout universes. 😀

What sort of values does Ashoken keep close to her heart?

helloaschefire:

Fallout is fighting with me at the moment so no new screenshots. However, @charomiami recently played her Duncan with Ashokencompanion game and thanks to updates and mod glitches, her hair turned this great shade of purple. i don’t think I can recreate it. Also, this hairstyle is really growing on me. BUT, @hoodieofthewaste has been waiting patiently for answers. Here we go!

As I said the other night, honesty and freed are what Ashoken values the most.  She tries to live her life honestly, despite the fog over and the holes in her memories, and openly as a synth. She regards her freedom and Duncan’s as something precious that needs constant protection. Everywhere around them, there is deceit and slavery. Having been enslaved and lied to by the Institute, she cannot tolerate these things above ground. She is brutal against slavers and gave no quarter to the Nuka World gangs. As a result, she and Duncan and any synth under her banner have a place to go to trade and deal and be safe, relatively. Freedom requires constant vigilance.

“Ashmaker: Sets Target On Fire” Ashoken for @helloaschefire . I thought it was perfect! Sorry for the delay, I’m still very sick but wanted to try and keep a promise!

Ashmaker’s unique quality is the Incendiary effect, which sets targets on fire and inflicts an additional fifteen points of damage. The bullets produce orange tracers when fired.
